Diabetic Eye Disease Treatment
If you have diabetes, it’s important to keep track of how your eyes are doing. Receiving treatment can prevent your vision from getting worse.
Laser treatments are used to treat Certain types of Diabetic Eye Disease:
- Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy – Abnormal growth of new blood vessels on the surface of the retina
- Diabetic Macular Edema – Swelling (Edema) of Macula (the central portion of the retina)
Injections of medications called anti-VEGF drugs help reduce the number of abnormal blood vessels in your retina and slow any leaking from these abnormal blood vessels.
